Multiple Benefit Plans
A Voluntary Employee Benefits Association (VEBA) Trust that consisted of retirees who were formerly employees of a Fortune 500 company provided specified medical, pharmacy and life insurance benefits to its members. The Trust was seeking a Third-Party Administrator that could provide a higher level of service to its members and a greater level of accountability to its governing board than their original court-appointed administrator.
CWIBenefits began servicing the group by supplying claims processing services for the Trust’s Medicare Supplement and Medigap plans, as well as linking and integrating to the Trust’s pharmacy benefit manager. Additionally, CWIBenefits provided comprehensive interfacing between the life insurance vendor and the Trust, providing premium billing and collection, eligibility, and claims processing assistance.
Eventually CWIBenefits would provide the Trust with many additional services such as ongoing contact center services and the production and distribution of their member newsletter. Additionally, consulting and accounting services, financial administration support and the preparation of monthly financial and trust statements were also added. Ultimately CWIBenefits would support the Trust by becoming its “virtual office”, providing all office functions needed to support its operations.
RESULT: The Trust experienced a higher level of response, increased member satisfaction and improved operational cost effectiveness.
